Keira Knightley

Born in London to the two actors Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent when she was just six years old and worked in commercials and television films. Knightley starred as Sabe an unimportant part for her in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). She came to prominence in the 2002 sports film Bend It Like Beckham, in which she portrayed an adolescent soccer player. It was in the year 2003 that Elizabeth Swann, a protagonist in the fantasy film Pirates of the Caribbean became incredibly popular. She was a part of the love comedy Love Actually (2003) and was labelled a promising teen movie star. Knightley won her first Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. Knightley starred in several more period films, including Atonement (2007 and a relationship story), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). The actress also played a socialite named Georgiana in The Duchess. In contemporary dramas, she branched out, appearing as an aspiring musician as a musician in Begin Again (2013) and the medical student on Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014).
